Ciao amore,
20 years ago today, on 09.07.2004 at 14:45, the first episode of Winx Club was broadcast on German television on RTL II.
We can even celebrate this anniversary today with two video messages from Wicki Kalaitzi (Stella’s voice actress) and Diane Weigmann (main singer)!
Here is a translation of what Wicki is saying:
Hello, I’m Wicky Kalaitzi.
I’m the German voice of Stella and I’m very happy because on 9 July 2024 Winx Club will be celebrating its 20th anniversary with all of us. This number is incredible. We have all matured during this time and I am delighted to hear from you that Winx Club was with you in your childhood and youth. And that we may have given you sunny or beautiful moments in perhaps darker times. That’s wonderful to hear. We have also grown with Winx Club: Jill Böttcher as Bloom, Sarah Riedel as Flora, Ann Vielhaben as Tecna, Inken Baxmeier as Musa, Ilona Borokowski as Layla and me as Stella. We have met again and again and a lot has happened over the last 20 years.
So, I greet you, hug you and celebrate the next 20 years of Winx Club with you.
All the best, Stella. Ciao.
Here is a translation of what Diane is saying:
I would like to take this opportunity to thank them once again from the bottom of my heart for their great work over the years.
Their voices, and of course those of the other voice actresses Jill Schulz (née Böttcher) as Bloom, Sarah Riedel as Flora, Ann Vielhaben as Tecna, Inken Baxmeier as Musa and Ilona Brokowski (née Otto) as Layla, have shaped my childhood and youth. They were and still are a place that feels like home. A place where I feel welcome and secure and I think I’m not just talking about myself, but perhaps about you too? 🙂
In a few days, I’ll even be celebrating my personal 20th anniversary. I’m celebrating the day I got to know and love Winx by chance.
To indulge in nostalgia once again, you can watch the first episode in German and the rest of the first season for free on the official Winx Club channel on YouTube.
